CSI: CYBER

WARNING:
SPOILER ALERT Mode: ON

Viewer discretion is advised

My all-time favorite tv shows, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation got a new spin-off, CSI: Cyber. When I read about its some moons ago, I'm ecstatic, overwhelmed with happiness because this new spin-off will be all about cyber crime which is an up to date topic to explore on this vast growing technology era.

Initially it was announced to be aired on March 4, 2015. But when I went to search on something new to watch, surprisingly it was already aired on March 3, 2013. Lucky me, I think. So I rushed to watch it.

The first episode, Kidnapping 2.0 got me intrigued by the title. Oh looky look! An upgraded version of "kidnapping". It must be awesomesauce!

...but it was a let down :(

Instead of getting dark and quirky vibes of CSI Las Vegas or exotic and summery vibes of CSI: Miami or busy but vibrant vibes of CSI: NY, this new CSI gave me vibes from other tv shows.
"Location display" vibes off Crisis; "get your gear up" vibes off NCIS; "micro expression reading" off Lie To Me. Actually the entire runtime steamed off Criminal Mind's vibes. And I'm not OK with that.

See, I'm pretty easy to be impressed with the story or the characters. If I'm clicked with both story-wise and interesting characters, that's a seal dealer for me. I'm sold and loyal. Until the story became too suffocating or the characters became too unbearable.
If the story was kind of meh but it has interesting characters v.v I might need some time off but I often continue watching it.

But back to the main topic here. Okay, the story was already a flop. But the characters was worse! I'll tell you why :
Special Agent Avery Ryan (Patricia Arquette)

She's the leader of the team, but oh my gawd she's so arrogant.
She led a car chase that ended up with the car they're pursuing jumped into a pond/lake/body of water WITH the baby that they're supposed to rescue, like WTF?!

Elijah Mundo (James Van Der Beek)

I presume he's the "brawl" of the team. Doing all the ass-kicking and shirt ripping ???

Brody Nelson (Bow Wow, "that" rapper)

He appeared to be the "rookie" with troubled past. He is well-dressed though.

Daniel Grummitz (Charley Koontz)

Obviously he's the "nerd". But boy, he has temper.
Raven Ramirez (Hayley Kiyoko)

Not really sure about her character. She only appeared in 4 short scenes, on the team introduction's scene, eating a cup noodle, helping the rookie and at the end of the day's scene.
Simon Sifter (Peter MacNicol)

Idk why but I kinda have a soft spot for the actor, since Ghostbusters. But I'm not sure if he could save this catastrophe.

The only thing reminded me that this is a CSI's spinoff was this scene with the cool 3D imaging from CSI: NY

*deep sighs*
Being upset really tiring me out. But because the interesting theme this tv show presenting, I'll probably gonna give it some good 2 or 3 episodes more before deciding whether I'm going to accept it wholeheartedly or dropping it.

Personally, a team of Archie (CSI Las Vegas), Abby (NCIS), Claudia (Warehouse 13), and Penelope (Criminal Minds) would have been more believable.

BONUS:
Super thin car window or Super Hulk smack?
